This is time to replace some used parts on my 2006 Coupe including the front Rotor.

Somebody told me that the DBA5000 Rotor are on sold with a serious 50% real rebate.
I was very excited until I came through a review from a guy owning a "Nissan Pulsar". His rotors were wrapped after 5000 mi. This is not a reference but proves the legend of the Chinese steel quality. :omg:

Did anybody dare to use this rotor on his Viper on track ?

DBA web site states "DBA's 5000 series slotted rotors complement the looks of a great looking performance car. The 5000 series rotors are designed for the serious street driver"

I am a serious track amateur but not a racer.

Men, this is scary. So if I do a little lapping these rotors will fail ?!

Stick with a tried and true rotor for a car as fast as the Viper. Euroteck, Stop Tech or Brembo in a 2 piece design. The factory rotors are very good actually if you don't need the 2 piece look.

Yesterday I ordered a good set of stock front rotors from Tator. I just wanted to know what is the story behind these DBA 5000 rotors.

I have them on my 09 SRT-10.
Too bad they don't make the two-piece rotors for the rear but overall
I like them alot. I had them on my heavily tracked C6-Z06 before and
they performed really well and actually lasted longer than the two-piece
stoptech rotors.
I know a few track junkies with 997 GT3 and Evo run them and all have
reported with excellent feedback.
And they are not Chinese crap, all dba rotors are manufactured in Sydney,
Australia and they also have their own foundry.

Warpage of rotors, in my experience, is actually due to poor bedding of the brake pads. The rotors get an uneven coating of lining material causing them to behave as if warped.

Disk Brakes Australia: DBA 5000 for motorsport

Hi everyone,

Hope you don’t mind us popping in but we were just told about this thread and thought we could help.

Schulmann, regardless of what rotor brand you end up with, I just wanted to qualify a bit of info about the DBA 5000 series. Not sure what the experience of the “Pulsar” owner was but we don’t really have a problem with the 5000 series range.

In fact, they are our premier category and do a lot of work in motorsport, both pro and amateur. The new web site actually quotes the range as suitable for “Motorsport and premium street performance”. Being a 2 piece design, they tick all the features boxes you’d expect and will stand up best to the rigours of track work and abuse.

Speaking of which, regardless of what brand you use, motorsport is inherently disrespectful to any vehicle parts and rotors are no exception. There a lot of stuff that needs to be done to keep all the parts working in top order in this hostile environment and not doing so will lead to failures. The Thermo-graphic paint marking on the 5000’s help see what’s what and we know that we have no trouble handling consistent 650C temps on these. Anyway, if anyone’s interested, we’ve got a bit of tech on this subject you can rear here http://www.dba.com.au/system/files/private/docs/T015 - Warping Disc Rotors_0.pdf

All the best and let us know if we can help with any brake rotor questions.

Regards
DBA Steve
