Does anyone know if it is better to vent the drivers side crankcase into the airbox, or just vent it to a K&N

Roe racing sells one. I just put it on. Easy. Compact. Looks good. See below.

Roe Racing Crankcase Breather Assembly - Vipers
SKU: RR-MRG2054
Weight: 1 lbs
Brand: Roe Racing

Oil pressure and ventilation is very important when it comes to the performance and life of your engine. Our breather assembly screws right into the oil cap location on the valve cover and provides superior ventilation over the factory setup, greatly reducing the possibility of oil seepage, gasket failure and leaks. Available for all Vipers.

Price: $49.95

Chex, what about a return line back to the air box?

Bob, does the Roe breather fumes get sucked into the AC/ heater motor next to the valve cover. Can you smell fumes inside the car?

Is there anything lost in not having the vacuum of the intake track pulling the fumes out? It seems like you would still want a little suction to help evacuate blow by gases. They used to sell a kit that would allow you to use the exhaust system to help pull the fumes. Probably not a good idea with cats though.

I have not detected any smell of fumes in the vehicle since its installation.

The reason to vent it back to the intake is only by emission laws...circulate the oil and burn it.

Re: crankcase ventilation - update

After experiencing some symptoms I attributed to a change in engine vaccuum level, I removed the crankcase vent that I put on a few days ago for mainly cosmetic purposes.. I did not have any blow back when I put it on so my experience may not be relevant to those who do have blow back.
