Someone posted once that the cream puff models (2000 and up?) would work well with higher shift points than the earlier models... Anyone have any hands on experience with best drag racing shift RPMs?

I have drag raced my creampuff a lot, before and after the supercharger I have always found faster times by shifting right at 6000 rpm on the factory tach. A lot of people have told me that I should shift at 5500 rpm, but whenever I shift at less than 6000 rpm I lose time and trap speed. I don't know how accurate the factory tach is, but mine seems to like 6000 rpm.

5500 seemed to be a good place to shift the Gen I, like my '94. I'll give higher shift points serious thought when I get to the strip :)

Looking at the dyno sheets on my car and also from the seat of the pants. I would say 5700-5800 RPM, the Snake pulls stronger
below 6000RPM.
