Yea, you're right. The only reason I don't use my 02 GTS as a daily driver is I have a company truck that they pay the gas and upkeep on. I have owned the car for 10 months and put 12000 miles on it. I think it is more comfortable than either of my Vettes. When they were running down the shifting aspect in traffic and then suggesting buying a Z06??? What trans. do they think one of those has??

I see no problem with daily driving a viper. just dont expect a forgiving ride.

I'd dd a GTS no problem... I'd pass on dd'ing a Gen I since it can't really be locked, and it rains all the time where I'm at.

My 93 is my daily driver. Until the winter comes. Keeping the fluids flowing keeps the seals and gaskets from drying out and the battery primed!
I drove my car all winter last year and will not take it out in snow/recently sanded surfaces.

I was in torrential rain yesterday and the beast was sure-footed!

Love it- DRIVE IT!

I drove my 06 daily for the first year and a half. -but it also has a roof, and windows, and air conditioning, and you can lock it, .......I couldn't imagine a gen 1 as a driver though.

Seems that they are talking about Gen I's. If it is limited to that, I would say no to a daily driver.

I daily drive my 1999 RT-10 as long as it isn't raining or snowing.
Is there a reason other than safety that you're worried about here? Just curious as I have no issue with driving in rain (you have to in SoFL) other than being extra cautious with slippery road conditions.

Not starting anything, and mine is not a daily driver either, but it also has a roof, and windows, and air conditioning, and you can lock it.

Polishing GenI wheels is a really, really big improvement. Looks awesome. :2tu:

I daily drove my 1996 RT for a few years.... it was a great daily driver, but the roof and window issue was a bit of a pain... the three-piece trunk top was a HUGE improvement on roof issue.......and once you get the roof and windows "dialed in" it can be a great DD.... although I did replace it with a Gen 3......... I miss my Gen 1 and may buy it back if I sell my Gen 3.
