Same thing occured in '03 with the Gen 3's and if I remember correctly, the wars on this board went on for a very long time. Some called the Gen 3 design "sacrilege", at least they did back then and man were the debates heated (order? not order? cancel my order? Hate it? Love it?). Then the cars started shipping and everyone saw them in person; the performance was there or soon after being modified and everything was ok in the Viper World. Even back then, Dodge was talking about the improvements made over the previous generations but IMHO, they were really speaking to the new car improvements and not slamming the older generations. Ralph always seems to pay homage to the prevous Viper Generations and I've seen him mention in many video clips that without the avid support/involvement of the VCA menmbers and Viper community, this car wouldn't be possible. In the end, progress is good for everyone. it may take a little time before the Viper nation fully embraces the Gen V but I'm sure they will. Back on topic, hopefully, the delays however unfortunate, will allow for last minute checks/corrections, even if that wasn't the primary reason for the delays. And since I have a Gen V on order, #V400066 I sure hope they get it right soon.
