Excellent plugs, I sell them every day. But for the standard Viper the projection into the chamber is less than the OE Champions. I think this is a disadvantage for a stock or mildly modded motor.

Yes.

A while ago Denso asked me to do some testing for them(dyno work). They are a bit down on power from the champions, but are about 1 heat range colder because Denso does not have the exact viper plug.

If your car has nitrous/forced induction I would say these are the way to go but without needing a colder plug these are not ideal.

PS. They are about 5hp shy of a champion on the dyno.

I installed the NGK Iridium plugs on my cobra, at the dyno. No change, HP or otherwise from the autolite double platinum. Except for the dent in my wallett, of course.
After sveral road course events, I can not find anything wrong with the autolites in my Viper.

Not "better" than the autolites. The autolites did start (hot or cold) better, idle better, better mileage, and possibly more power, have not dynoed yet, compared to the champions.
Although some are convinced platinum produces a slightly smaller kernel, it is a stronger kernel. Therefore, you can run a slightly "loose" .035" gap, and now you have a "bigger" kernel. Mine are actually gapped at .037" "tight". After several track events, they look great.
Until Iridium or Denso get to the price of autolites, they can't be beat for the money. Plus, you can get autolites anywhere, even some Wal-Marts!

Stugots,

I forgot to mention that the car idled rougher with the Denso's and had a tendency to spit out lots of flames when driven hard. It was cool to see flames out of a viper, but the loss in power I could not live with.

And for what its worth when I first put them in the car it felt like more power, untill the dyno showed the truth.

I have the NGK irridiums. I noticed a decrease of low rpm heavy load stumble that I was getting. I have 2 heat range colder plugs. Definatly worth the money on a car that has forced induction or ESP running nitrous.
