I just recently bought a 95 red RT/10. I am going to detail my engine but I was scared that I might screw something up. If there is anything I should keep from getting wet please let me know and inform me of any cleaners that would help me out. Thanks Paul.

Advance Auto Parts carries some cleaner called "Gunk" it's in a orange and white can and works great. Thats what I use and you don't have to worry about getting anything wet. Aslong as you don't just hold the water stream over something for a long pretty of time. I just got done doing Jeff Ellison's RT and it worked great.

For final cleaning/detailing - someone had given me the hint to use baby wipes. I have found this to work extremely well on everything from hoses and wires to the valve covers.

Acutally, I had heard that brake fluid worked good to clean engine parts...I tried it. It look VERY good for about 10 mins then it dulled out. I did have good luck with armor all on the valve covers and finderwells it seemed to hold the shine better. Now I guess I will have to try the baby wipes. I do agree with the Zanio for tires, I got a bottle from MGW for installing the gas cap and it makes the tires look great.

Do y'all use armor-all on your tires. If it causes dry rot on rubber hoses I don't think that it would be good for tires. If you don't use armor-all what do you use.

Zaino makes a tire treatment that I really like, and K&N filter cleaner works excellent on a dirty engine. Check it out.
