Your fine man. If it's worth the money to you, then it was worth it. I looked at his car too, but it was too far away from me.
It's a beaut' and enjoy it!

This brings up a question I have had in the past. Do the tuned cars, i.e. Hennessey etc. suffer from the same head seepage/gasket issues that most genI motors suffer from? Possibly there were different gaskets used?

Hey Mullins, good to see you over here. Nope, your deal was a fair one. The lowest those are selling for is ~$32-33k, with about 10k more miles, likely without new tires (think ~$1k there), and without any upgrades (I'm assuming yours are good, and worth ~$2-3k off the top of my head), so the amount you paid was right on (e.g. $32-33k+2k for the miles +1k for the tires +2-3k for the mods = $37-39k).

I just sold my 94 RT which had 41,000 miles. Never had a drop of oil leak out!!! Then again, sounds like only a matter of time with the Gen I's however.

Hey madmaxx, do you know if our sweeeeeeeet 96s are prone to the
head gasket failure?

I am still under warranty till end of this year, so if its gonna fail, I would love for it to happen soon. I have 8k miles on my beast, No track time.

Yah, 96 RTs are Gen I engines. I am hoping they made some change to the head gaskets and maybe my year should be OK?

I don't think you paid too much.

However, I will strongly advise you to check the rocker arms. I had two bad (ready to go) rocker arms on mine and it only had 11,500 miles.

OMG really you have only 8K miles on your '96?

If so congrats on will power. I have had my 2000 for 23 days and have almost 3K. I had it 12 days before I put it on the track, and I had NEVER raced before.

I will be putting another 3K on it in the next 10 days driving from Florida up to Canada and back.

You are kidding right?

Yes, > Rocker Arms < I had two that were extremly worn and if I had not had other reason for pulling the valve covers I would never had found out.

If you would like more info just e-mail me. I'm more than happy to help.
