I haven't heard of a patch not being able to hold up. At the very least it should suffice for your "crap dusting" needs. They're usually over with just as you hit third.
If you are like me you will have more. I have had 4(!) flats in my rears in alittle over a year (5k miles). I have patched them all. Next flat and I am putting on the new set of Pilots I have in the garage. Still trying to find time to make a good burnout video with what's left with the originals.
A patch will work but you will lose your "Z" rating (high speed reliability). If you want to retain yor "Z" rating try and find a place that will "vulcanize" it.
