Still looking for some rims.I really like the look of my 97 rims.
However they have lost there luster. So heres my question are 98 rims exactly the same as 97 just a higher polish are the 98 rims 18" and can you have
the 97 rims chromed and if so will the chroming hold up.Was looking at after market rims but really don't know that I like them anymore than what I have now. Thanks for your replies---------

97 rims should be forged just like the 98 although there may have been some carryover from 96. Otherwise the only difference is the higher polish of the 98.

Posers chrome, trackers polish. It's up to you.

Chuck the only track we have here are railroad tracks -------so guess I'm a poser lol. From what I've read the 96 and some early 97 rims had some flaws I believe that I have early 97 rims the insides of the rim have some casting flaws were some of the metal is pulling up.

Lou I do like the look of the ribs that are on the 97 rims
and yes if its possible will probably buy a set to chrome.

If you're going to chrome them then you might try to talk the price down on some 96 rims. 96 is perfectly good for the street.

I believe the cost is $125-150 total including shipping per wheel depending on where you live.
Here is a recent thread on chroming:

Gerald, nice pic, looks pretty bad asp!!

I believe that car to be a 96 mule that was shipped around for the rags and publicity in 95. Eagle eyes notice side exhaust. One of them at CAAP has a sunroof. Freaky stuff.......... Also at one point there was a small emblem by the door poppers that stated "Chrylser Design" or something.

I can vouch for the work John does at California chrome. He has done two sets of wheels for me in the past. Great work and great comminication. Wheels were delivered when promissed.

John chromed my 5-spokes this winter.
Really nice job and on schedule.
Good turnaround time. (about 8 days!)
Price with chromed centercaps $175 per piece, Cheap...
Nothing but good to say about CalChrome, They came highly recommended by Scott aka ViperMed. I was not dissapointed.

Anybody who wants pictures of these wheels or some close ups, feel free to contact me at:
