I have 2 front calipers in hand and I need the rears for my GTS brake conversion. Question is what are the distinguishing marks or traits to identify front versus rear calipers? The pistons are different sizes , anything else in the castings?

is that for proper brake balance? smaller pistons in rear?

Likely...under braking, weight transfers forward, so you can't have as much braking force in the rear or they'll lock up before the fronts (which ABS would have to balance out). The 49/51 weight distribution helps, but it's hard to overcome physics, so smaller pistons help.

Correct the smaller pistons should be in the back. They are proportioned to have less braking force in the rear so they don't lock up. I assume you are referring to the srt10 brakes, for your Gts? Make sure you have some sort of proportion valve on the system. The SRT brakes are not designed to work with the Gen II brake system. If you don't valve them they will be to much brake for the rear.
