DIY Viper owners are superior. Let\'s talk some smack this spring!

Now that my car is done after three weeks of problem-filled do-it-yourself modding I just thought I would try and cause some trouble by declaring that Viper owners who work on their cars themselves are far superior to all you ballar-types who just take your car to a tuner or good tech and write check! :p And for those of you who have the detailer come to your office/house every Friday and clean the Viper for you - bah, you should be ashamed!

RIGHT!!

It took me over an week just to polish my Viper (With no wax yet) I wount let a detailed touch my Viper, he can do the Expedition or Caddy...

Yesterday I changed all rotors, pads, motor and brake fluids/oils and finished the powder coated intake, valvecovers, stainless steel hoses, gauge pod and some other stuff I've been doing all winter.

Man, I fell much better already, Thanks PhoenixGTS!!!

Does getting the kids to clean your Viper count towards DIY or paying someone? I can't afford a real detailer, so I thought I'd get my money's worth from the kids! :smirk:

finished the powder coated intake, valvecovers
Part of these last three weeks for me was re-powder coating the intake and valve covers. Have to borrow a camera before I can post pics, but they are now grey crinkle with the highlights sanded. Did you redo yours to red? Or something crazy?

I'm all for DIY, and do as much as I can. But I'll let the my tuner do machine work and piston change. :D

Actually, my take on the DIY thing is if you can do it, you should......if it is beyond you, let someone in the "know" handle it for you.

seems the more DIY involved you are, the more you appreciate the car....IMO

I would never talk smack to another person who wasn't a DIY'er (at least not a mopar owner)

DIY is where it's at. No better feeling than accomplishing a killer upgrade or even that little personal touch that makes the car more personal and not just 4 wheels with an engine.

Oh and PC Rules us all in the DIY dept.

I'm a DIY poser. Does that count? I will let know one substitute for me for photos ops, waves, primping, smiles, cruizing or any other attention getting scenes.

Except no substitutes

Sh#t... I worship at the alter of grease monkies with my offering of virgins and cold cash. I'm a DIY'er in every respect except for cars... never learned it, but hoping to start. Until then, I'm as poser as it gets. :D

LOL! Here's some advice how to learn on doing oil changes fast.

1. Drive car in hot summer heat for 3 hours.
2. Immediately get under the car and start messing with the filter.

I think you will learn real quick how to change oil if you follow those steps. :D
