Stock is the way it came originally from the factory. Filters and your exhaust work don't do much as far as changing your times, but every tenth counts regardless how much testing you do. If one car dyno's 400rwhp, then you add 15hp, it's going to be a little quicker. You must be an amazing driver to lay down those numbers, especially a 1.6 60 foot time with stock tires. I think that's great!
Now put it back to stock and see if you can set a new record. Good luck!

it's close to "stock", but not stock....

That was really cool, thanks for doing that. It seems most would like
to see me put the factory stock items back on to claim the record so thats what
i'm going to do. I will post the run when i do it with all documentation. Now if
I could just get it in the 11.4's that would be awesome on a stock Viper. When
the stock items are back on I also plan to do some runs with just DR'S and try
to claim that record as well.

Don't put the stock stuff on till you run Ranger! He's already got 45HP on you if you count yourself at 460 with the smooth tubes and filter.

I agree that it's not factory stock, but I for one am VERY impressed with your times on the Pilot tires!

I have quite a bit more power and I haven't hit 11.5 yet on the Pilots, so I applaude your driving. I'd agree though that you should run Ranger first before you swap out the filters/tubes and exhaust.

Oh, and if it's not betraying any secrets, how are you launching? What RPM? Etc..

Why not just say that your car is very quick for the minimal mods that it has, and leave it at that? Modded or not, your car has gone way better than average.

Not Stock, but great times. You did much better times then most with farless mods. Congrats on that. But this topic was brouched before. Stock is stock. Your car doesnt qualify as stock currently. Glad to hear you are doing it right, putting the original stuff back on, and then going after the "stock" record. Good Luck.

ABSOLUTELY Bring it to VOI9, I need a car to drive while there.
Anyone else want me to race their car at VOI9. I wont be taking
mine so really if anyone would like me to do a pass at the dragstrip during

Great times to be sure. But face it, you're not stock. Especially w/ no rear muffler and hi flo resonators.

Care to share your starting line technique with the rest of us mortals? Did you do a tire-melting burnout before hand? Shift points?

I feel I can run the same times with the original exhaust, tubes and filters.

I don't. The tubes/filters add a supposed 10 HP, and the exhaust you have flows slightly better and weighs less than stock.

HP doesn't win drag races, driving does.

Would you care to place a wager? lol

Great run!

Based on one of you dyno days (years ago) K&N filters provided a 10-11 hp gain. Runs were made with stock filters then the K&N's were installed while the car was still strapped to the dyno.

Other confirm that same gain for smooth tubes and K&N combo. So I conclude that the Smooth tubes provide no proven HP gain and offers only a placebo effect on HP.

In the old day of drag racing air cleaners were removed at the track and cars ran as 100% stock. We even welded in 2 1/2 in water pipes, where the exhaust pipe made the turn to go under the floor pan behind the front wheel, with end caps and uncapped them at the track. Like Cheap shorty Lake Pipes. All ran street stock.

So why invent a new set of rules of what is stock. The car in question has no headers, no engine mods, K&N filters are stock Viper(ACR and GT'2) parts not necessarily after market options.

Please take show "Ranger" you tail lights. Nothing against Ranger just supporting our Viper Family member!

How do you launch your car? 1.6 in the 60' on Pilots? Wow! What is your launch routine?
