OutThere,
I guess you never saw or heard of a GTSR which my car has the same exterior parts except for larger wing end plates and a different rear diffuser. Interesting that you have a plain red SRT and you like the winged and splittered and skirted CC! I think your SRT is hideously plain and boring. I've DRIVEN an SRT and I still don't want one. It's slower than my car, only brakes at par with mine, and looks like a regular S2000/CAMARO/SEBRING CONV. with stupid looking wheels. BTW, even if a factory ringer SRT hit 202 mph you'll still be looking at my rear wing getting farther and farther away! And since you mentioned it I'll also beat you 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile, mile, 2 mile, 3 mile.....

Poor guy with his Venom puke mobile that would sell for less than a stock 98... a little bitter and I understand.

I don't have an SRT yet, I have a 95 and it has a lot of mods. I have probably said this about 14 times in this tread alone and it was the topic of why I even entered this thread to begin with. I test drove a 2003 and checked out a 2004. Never mentioned the stupid GTS but like usual you all come running to add your stupid, ignorant comments about the new Viper. This is a very clear demo of how people like you only see what you'd like to see. And I like the CC as a templete of what a SRT Coupe might look like, not for all the garbage hanging off it from every corner. Basically the same car, again minus the stupid spoiler, splitter, and skirts, only the CC has a hard top w/a cool scoop. Same lines, same everything. Put the GREAT interior of the SRT in a CC and it'll be a winner like the GTS. Just don't ruin it like you did.

Take the how many 1000s you've spent on that ugly, warped, pod of yours, put it into a SRT and it would SPANK a 98 GTS with the same mods in every way you can measure. Including the drag strip, road-course, any car show, 0-100-0, 0-60, top speed, resale value, etc.. But God please don't ever put that Civic wannbe nightmare wing on something as beautiful as a SRT!!

Brakes on par with yours.... I hope you put as much into the brakes as you seem to have into that exterior costume if you are claiming to brake from 0-60 in 93 feet. You are either a liar or just another ignorant SRT basher who doesn't know what he is talking about with regard to the new Viper. Either way you are as big a joke as your car appears to be.

**Can't wait for a new coupe to come out so you GTS guys can shut the fuc* up with the SRT bashing. For some reason it ****** you off that a vert can now whip you on the track.... get over it or at least shut up.
Gee...must be another Outthere out there since you didn't start the GTS bashing. AS far as your version of a street CC I'll pass. I'll also wager that 80% of Coupe lovers would prefer the SRT Coupe with the splitters and wing. Your version is boring and stupid like you. Here's a pic just for you!

Out in Left Field:You need to take a chill pill bro. The fact that all you could afford is a Gen 1 Viper and not upgrade to a GTS is not our fault!!! Until you have owned a GTS you will NEVER understand. Hands down the GTS is the best looking Viper of the 3 styles that is not my opinion that is fact. Take a poll I promise the GTS will come out on top even Chris acknowledged the GTS is the best Viper in regards to styling. I guess when your told enough times your number one you start believing it.

I'm interested in what motivates you to assign the term "fact" to what is essentially aesthetic preference? The GTS may be a more popular style among current viper owners, but a poll of current Viper owners would be a biased sample. Obviously those who bought the gen I and II cars will be partial to its styling. But even if such a poll were completely random, being popular doesn't make something a fact. It makes it popular. My opinion, obviously at odds with yours, is that the SRT is the most beautiful car on the road, bar absolutely none. The Murcielago, Viper GTS and Enzo might be more outrageous, but outrageous is in no way equated with beauty and desirability, once again in my opinion.

Opinion, not fact.

LOL, you guys are killing me. There all different; Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3. If I had enough money I'd own one of each. But for now I'm happy owning one.
I say go for the change. As long as your not worried about the money, and trading up to a Gen 3 coupe in a couple of years. Not to mention the fact that your probably going to supercharge whatever you buy

Aww... the poor GTS guys don't like people saying bad things about there cars.... Especially from some idiot fellow Viper owner on this web site. Kinda sound familiar????

Well said Fluffy & Jeff. I can't wait to have a RT/10 and a SRT in my garage. A GTS?? Maybe someday but there's 3-4 other cars ahead on my want list.

God DD I was going to eat something... after seeing a picture of your car I know it won't stay down... yuk. I am Kidding... it's a nice car but wings and such are just really ugly to me. Whatever floats your boat there DD but aren't I a real dic* for saying shi* like that about your car??? Kinda like you and 20-30 other people on this site have been doing since the first photo of the SRT was released.

HA! Yeah, I couldn't afford the extra few 1000s $$ for a GTS... that was it. The GTS just doesn't do it for me, never has, just like it doesn't do it for many Viper owners. Ironically, if I had to get a GTS it would be just like Gerald's only black or yellow with the black stripes. He put the side-pipes back where EVERY real Viper should have them and the DLM work speaks for itself.

The new Viper is here and it's a great car to many, many people. Support the evolution of the Viper or just shut up already. You don't like it. EVERYONE GETS IT! It is no longer a prototype, it is part of the Viper line and fellow Viper owners are buying, driving, and racing them. And whether or not you get a coupe version will probably depend on its success.

If I could I'd buy both a GTS (preferably sapphire/silver) and an SRT. I like them both, but for my budget I have to go with the one that I truly think is the more beautiful, and that is the SRT. I never said that the SRT looked more bad-ass than the GTS, because it doesn't. But I do think it looks better, and I also think it looks better than any Ferrari or anything else out there today. My personal opinion.

As for aesthetic opinion, I'd bet you could find more than a few Ferrari aficionados who would argue that the 308 beats the GTS in visual appeal. I guess I'll have to be one of those "crazy" Viper owners who prefers the SRT.

UPDATE: Gerald got rid of the sidepipes! :D

Personally I think the GTS looks best out of the three, but I would NEVER try to tell anyone here that is what they should believe. Like the one you like and don't give a F*CK what anyone else thinks.

Now don't go talking bad about my car. Ya'll might hurt my little baby feelings!! :D

Sure be nice to have both - a GTS for it's classic curves and an SRT for those balmy Florida sunny days.

The SRT looks like the Aston Martin Vanquish convertible on steroids. The Aston is renowned as one of the most desirable cars in the world - hand built and all. That a Dodge SRT looks as classy but more muscular is an acheivement.

Live and let live.

The SRT has fantastic potential for hot rodding. Add a big full width rear roll over bar in polished SS (or two hoop bars), a tasteful rear wing or trunk spoiler, a CC front & diffuser, 5 spoke polished wheels and sit it a tad lower, fill the rear guards up with a slightly taller tire to take away the big bum look at the rear - and it'd look as mean as any kitted out RT/10 IMHO. Add twin turbos or a 1000hp SC package and you'd have yourself a car that would turn as many heads as any Viper and one that could run with anything the old ones have achieved.

They're all good - and there's better still to come. A Gen. 3 GTS I do not think will disappoint. The old GTS will always remain a classic - new is different, but not a poor cousin.

Gerald, You are suffering from vehicular schizophrenia, I know this because I have suffered from it for many years. There is no cure. The only known treatment to keep it in check is multiple vehicles. Keep the GTS, buy another car and call me in the morning. :usa:

why the F____k has this thread gone so sour??? God You guys sound like a bunch of b1tches "mine is bigger than yours"

Gerald, if you can get a decent amount of $$ for you Gts I say sell it, and get the SRT10 and put a DLM blower on it :D That car in person is alot better than any pic out there. I think there is alot of envy from the gen II guys about the gen III because of it's performance STOCKIt's only natural since they are no longer #1 on the block lol. I could have bought one, but I always wanted a GTS because of the aggressive styling, maybe next year if the market turns around ;) I'd love to have a convertible that rocks the way the SRT does

I don't think you'll be able to part with your GTS for a new SRT until you have comparable work done to it. Take the challenge but you'll find there is no replacement for DLM displacement! hehehe

Enough said YOU picked the GTS over the SRT because why? It looks better!!! Thank you. Oh yeah those SRT's are so out of my price range.

Given Gerald's past track record, everyone should calm down, because he is sure to get it DLM-supercharged ;) That'd make him the only one I know who's had each Gen Viper supercharged!
