I received a 1999 Dodge Viper GTS ACR from my brother. He did not like that car, but I do. Few things need to be fixed in order to make it perfect. It would be much easier for me to have a reference with pictures to all the parts and their part numbers.

Is there an online document/book/website/club (just like ToyoDIY.com) somewhere that could show me each vehicle section with parts and their part numbers? That would be very helpful. Also, while I'm at it, where do you guys order your OEM parts from? Is there a dealer with a discount designated to car enthusiasts?

Today I checked out Mopar.com, but I could not see anything older than 2001. On top of that their images are small and have no part numbers.

I'm asking those question, because for my other cars this is exactly what I have, so there's got to be something for the Viper. I would like to add that I already have all the repair manuals for the car. They're great.

Give Viper Parts of America a try. They also give discounts (on select) items to members and bigger discounts to VENOM members of the VCA. :)

PM me your email address and I will send you a .pdf version of the 1999 Mopar Viper Parts Catalog. It has diagrams with part numbers.

^ Just received a pretty good PDF from LifeIsGood. In that PDF the rear and front shock/spring setup is not adjustable. Was that the case for the ACR? My 1999 ACR has adjustable coil overs in the rear and non adjustable front. What was the factory default? I'm totally confused here.

Even though I just purchased adjustable coil overs from GTS-R 001, I would like to know what the original setup was.

The original shocks on your car are the Koni 2812 shocks. They are specifically valved for your application, they are probably still available from Dodge. They used to be about $2,500 a piece Dodge pricing. Your original shocks were Gold in color, the later version of that shock was done in black. You can still buy those shocks from Koni, however they will need to adjusted for your application. The original springs are Hypercoils, and I'm not certain of the spring rates. I can dig up some pics from my car if you'd like.

^ Thanks. Now I know. My rear suspension is what you have in that picture above, but my front is a regular blue Koni shock with a non adjustable spring.
Can't wait to see what it's going to look like and feel like driving with the coil overs I bought.

Will post pictures before and after as I plan to powder coat the entire suspension and rebuild it from scratch.

Here is what I pulled from my 99 ACR:

I removed everything and so far I have one question regarding the shaft:

Can I service the boot in the shaft? I didn't want to cut it, before I find out if someone makes them.
Btw, I can sell those shocks cheap without the rear forks if anybody wants them. They do not leak.

I don't have step by step. It was a PITA since I didn't have a professional spring compressor tool. It was a pain removing the shocks, was a small pain swapping the caps and wasn't too bad re-installing them though. It can definitely be done in an afternoon if you have the right tools.

I have a 2002 acr and my front and rear shocks are yellow with external reservoirs, and they have dynamic suspension decals on them.

That's correct, the change from Koni to Dynamic was made mid year 2000. As an FYI the OP"s car with Blue front shocks as shown was not correct for an ACR.
