Does PCV Hose To Air Filter Reduce Octane Rating??

I have heard this before. I would like to add some timing on my Vec 2 and stay with 93 octane. If the PCV hose reduces octane how much will it take out. Will it make 93 more like 89? It seems like that hose will let hot air into the intake as well...Sounds like a performace robber if this is true...thanks...AL...

The PCV itself will not recude the octane level. The problem is the liquid oil and oil vapors that it ***** from the crankcase. Espectially a supercharger acts like a vacuumcleaner. How much it reduces your octane level ? Maybe by as much as 5 oct ! So your 93 will look like a 88oct, the consequence is a dead engin within a few milliseconds. The best is to modify that crankcase venting such a way that either you have an oil seperator or you vent the crancase into the nature.
