On my 2001 RT/10 the driver's side interior door handle (the chrome one) does not release the door. The interior emergency release and the exterior door button both function normally. The lock/unlock indicator light on the assembly is functioning as well. If I listen closely, I can hear a click from the handle assembly when I operate the handle. I don't have a wiring diagram so tracing the wiring will be difficult. Anyone ever have this issue and have a suggestion on what to look for to fix? Thanks much.

Start by looking for cracked/broken wires in the bundle above the door hinge.

Find 2001 Viper Service Manual on eBay as it will show all that you need to now and in near future...all for a few bucks.

Hello
Thanks for your response. I'll check where you said. Actually, I do have a service manual. I forgot it has a wiring diagram. I just found it on the wiring diagram after I sent my original message. Interestingly, other than that the manual says nothing about that assembly.

With the manual, one can gain valuable insights by consulting the 8-W-80 section. There you will find switches etc. along with pinouts...and, the wire size and colors.
