So I'm farting around and removing the side sill plates that were on my car when I bought it. As I work I'm opening and closing the driver's door a lot but only allowing the door to rest against the latch (but not clasped) each time I go for more tools.
I come back and the door is partially latched:( and the door popper won't work so I go around to the other side, no go there either. I force the drivers door completely latched, still no go. Luckily the keys were on my bench so I hit the lock/ unlock on the fob numerous times, horns and lights work, still no go. Open the hatch glass and open the door manually. Open and close it manually a dozen times;still no door popper, start the car, no go. Check the fuses, OK. Won't open from inside with the regular latch either; only the emerg. one
Finally I go inside to look for my manual and as I'm walking in I hit the lock button a bunch of times honking the horn cause I'm pissed. Come back with the manual and they unlock and work :dunno: :dunno:

What did I do and how did I fix it??

Don't fart...thats what started all this trouble. Stay pissed....its what fixed your problem. Y'know....this Viper tech thing isn't that hard :D

Explaining Viper things to you
I'd be concerned that when you're out on a date in the Viper that you fart and then you're pissed on yourself and your date takes a taxi from that point.

And then your car won't work and your cell battery is drained.

On my Gen 1 I had this occasional problem and ended up running a ground wire from the solenoid to the frame itself. I had grounded the solenoid to something inside the door, meaning it has to ground to the chassis through the hinge. I think that was sometimes not making the connection. And I don't know what an emergency latch is...

Had the same problem on my car. Passenger door 'clicked' but remained ajar. Clicker no workie at all. Had to force the door shut all the way to get it to respond.

Glad yours is back to it's 'behaving' mode again, but that little feature is mysterious. Hope someone can give the proper technical info on what you did (although the bodily discharge comments might be the real answer!)
