Nice write up. Impressive 'real world' times on the hellcat, given its' 4,500+ lbs, "only" 275s out back. Not bad to nail these times, then drive back home with 2 in the back seat, A/C on and 20+mpg......Got to hand it to "SRT" oh, sorry......"Dodge."

So, the ZR-1 out performed the Z06 in this venue. And the Viper TA, being a track tuned car...beat them ALL. Interesting article. Thank you

Enjoyed the write up. The mph on the Vipers were really impressive. They also out ET'd the Z's on stickier rubber. Nice showing by all the cars.

Zo6 with a better 60 foot time does 4 mph less in the traps. Who's your Daddy! Someone in another thread said "NineBall has done more for Viper marketing than anyone at Chrysler." Ain't that the truth. Ralph and the boys need to learn how to player the "ringer" game etc.

While many have tried to save and defend the image of Viper,they have failed until the Human DCT Nine Ball came along.It was never a real issue with the Gen.5,but the very poor marketing and the screwing over of their loyal customers for the greedy dealers.I am pleased that someone is capable of utilizing the Gen.5 at it full potential and is showing the world.

Keeping this up,esp whopping the new Z06s will restore the Viper to the King of the American Super Cars....But,the real test will come when the Automatic Zs show up...


Correct,Dodge needs to reach out to Nine Ball with a new Top of the line Track Viper or something big for his efforts.Those Executives making Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars a year,if not millions failed the Viper and its loyal customers.

Just to make your day,with just a tune and exhaust ,a new Turbo S ran a 10.00 yesterday/They will do 10.70s Stock .... No Drama,just pushing the gas,mutable times...That is what will rule the street and stop light.

By the way,I have no idea were you are at,but I am in Palm Beach,Fl.,if you are anywhere near I will meet ya at Palm Beach Speedway and I will show ya how a TS will run against that Shake of yours,if you have one on the Drag Strip or Road Course..... $$$$$$$$$$$

Remember,there is only one Nine Ball,I know that after having 3 Vipers my self and trying for 15 years to master shifting and launching Snakes.Nine Ball is the first to master this to get these times....

The only 911 I'd actually like is a 997 GT3-RS or a 991 GT3. Even though they aren't the fastest model, they look the best and they go around a race track the best. But, the 911 of any model tends to blend in traffic here in Houston, they get zero gawk factor. We see a dozen Cayman and base 911 here, per day, just like Corvettes.

Thanks so much for this great performance test and write up. I really enjoyed it.....especially the part about all the Vipers toasting the Vettes. Anyone have any info on when there will be a new ACR put into production from the SEMA concept car unveiled this fall?

Brand new Red C7Z06 and Orange TA Viper with decent drivers ran multiple passes at Palm Beach Speedway last night. Both Manual Cars and both cars ran like crap,both ran low 12s /very high 11s (80/90s).Very difficult to launch Viper and the Z06 was actually shutting off /pulling power bad when the driver was trying to do burn out or launch... Both Drivers were pissed....Z06 driver said, for sure bumping to AUTO Z06 when they hit the stores next month..

However,both looked excellent.....

Who cares the process,a win is a win at the Street Car test and tune races or stop light..... By the way,one of those push the gas GTRs dominated everything last night...Street Car High 9s low 10s @139 all night long/No issues at all....

He (C7Z Owner)messed with it every way he could,could not get it correct...Several of us tried to assist him,the car ,in any mode would not allow burn out or hard launch without almost stalling....Big Issue...Now once the C7Z and TA got going they Hauled Axxxx....
