In this months VIPER magazine there is a new Viper prototype Dodge has built. It seems to be the answer to the Ford GT and a future 500 HP Corvette. This is supposed to have 625 HP and be tweeked to the max. They claim they will build it if there is enough interest. I would buy one in a second if given a chance.

A Dream Viper would be a 600 + hp Coupe, there has been more than enough interest expressed already. DC has lost their chance to be the leader in the HP wars, they didn't seem to want it? I'm not sure what story you are talking about? The ME12 perhaps - Yawn..... Does nothing for me,
I'm not interested in a 300,000 Porche GT competitor made by "Dodge"....
If they build a coupe, maybe I'll buy another Viper?

2Charmed,
It is a coupe and is is over 600hp. It is on the cover of the Spring issue of VIPER, I just received the issue today. It should be a lot more reasonable in price than the ME12.

Unfortunately, that car is not a coupe. It is an SRT with a hardtop. The coupe will be built, but I sure am tired of waiting. I hope my money doesn't burn a hole in my pocket before the coupe is announced. The new Lambo sure looks good.

It's the car they showed at SEMA last year - it is not a coupe but rather a convertible with a temporary-looking carbon fiber top bolted on.

Yeah you guys are right. That is very disappointing. I hope they come up with a true coupe tweeked like this car, that is the car I would buy.

I saw the car at SEMA, the engine looked cool! That's about all I can say for it though.
Don't get me wrong, I think the SRT/10 is a modern marvel, it just isn't "mean" enough and isn't trackable as it is.

I am spoiled with my Z06 now, it's ready to go with just a harness bar and belts.

Believe me, I wish they would build a MEAN looking COUPE with the brakes and suspension of the SRT/10 (or better!)
I'm not thrilled with the C-6 looks and am not interested in the base C-6 either, so there's not much to do, but wait for now.

The Ford GT isn't attainable for now, and I'm not interested in the Gallardo
(The Gallardo is nice, but for that price, it should be FASTER) or 360 for now.

2charmed is right...I was also at the SEMA show and the only thing cool about the SRT was the engine. All I can hope for is VIO 8 and DC showing up with the coupe version of the SRT...otherwise I will be less than pleased.

The induction system was impressive. The car had a cowl induction hood and a ten throttle body set up. I wouldn't expect either to make it to production of an upcoming street legal Viper.
