Driver side rear wheel slack?

My 2001 Rt/10 is starting to wander on the road. I jacked up all 4 corners and checked for slack in the wheels and everything seems tight except my driver's side rear. When I have that corner jacked-up and I check for slack by pull-pushing the wheel, it's good when I grab the wheel 12 and 6 o'clock, but when I grab the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock I'm getting noticeable movement. I know the next step is to remove the wheel to diagnose further. In the meantime, can anyone give some advice on what I should be checking first? Maybe a toe link/tie rod or a hub assembly? The car had new toe links done by a hi-perf shop when I bought it 3 years ago so I hope I don't have to do that again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

Left/Right would typically be something like toe or maybe a control arm bushing. If it was the hub I would expect it to be loose in all directions, not just one. Control arm I would kind of expect to be all directions as well, but if it's just one I could see it being more noticeable in a left right push than an up down.

Thanks for everyone's input. I'll be pulling the hub nut, caliper, rotor, etc. in the next few days to get a better idea of what's going on. Will post an update here once I know more.

Well, the issue was much less serious that I feared. The nut on the joint where the toe link attaches to the knuckle on the diver's side was only finger tight, allowing the movement. I also checked the other side and it was only slightly more than finger tight. The shafts on the new joints installed a couple of years ago are not drilled to allow a cotter pin to keep the nuts tight. The shop then had put new castle nuts on but I never noticed there were no cotter pins. I re-torqued them to spec using Threadlocker and also did the old mechanics trick of scoring the threads to hopefully keep them tight. At least now I know to check them once in awhile.

Glad you got it figured out! Easy fixes are always nice, though ***** that you don't have the "right" studs in there. Guess you might be able to have someone drill them if you really wanted down the road.

I had old tires on mine that were pretty hard. You could feel it searching back and forth in the ruts in the road even when the road didnt have very visible deep indents. Once I got new tires it stopped.
