Can you tell from the gear ratios, etc, if the Gen V will have the highway drone that the ACR had?

Which ACR?
I had an '09 and '10 and never experienced any noticable drone.

'10 -- plus I want to say highway speeds, not Interstate speeds. I don't have any experience with an '09.

From interviews with Ralph Gilles, the Gen V will have a better sounding exhaust and will finally have some sound deadening material. It should be pleasant to cruise in.

I had a Gen 4 exhaust installed on my Gen 3, and then had it removed and put back to stock within a week because the 100 hz. drone drove me crazy.

No factory Viper has drone at any speed. If you think it does then its time to buy a prius.

This. It's a stock exhaust.

I spent about a half an hour as a passenger in a 2013 GTS # 12 production mule and I detected no drone. About 20 of the 30 was spent on the freeway at low rpms.

you didnt have stock gen 4 put on it

It was a stock Gen 4 cat back. The difference is in the engines. The Gen 4 engine didn't require the crossover pipes because it was a quieter design.

Thanks for the input. I do not know if the '10 I rode in had a stock exhaust or not.

When you are wearing a helmet, even the loudest, rudest exhaust doesn't drone too bad. The new car will probably be refined well enough that it can be driven without a helmet and not have a drone issue.
