Dumb question about garage door

Wondering if anyone has this problem or a fix for it.

I recently moved and my house is on the east side of the street with the garage door facing to the west. Everytime it rains, my rollup garage door collects water and when I open the door it dribbles all over the viper sitting there. It doesn't matter if it rains a little or a lot, there is always water dumping on it.

Even if I keep the cover on the car when it rains, the rain will ********* through the cover and still leave spots.

Is this the dumbest thing you ever heard?

If it's unique to me, I think I will order a new garage door and see if that doesn't solve the problem.

It depends what kind of car cover it is. For example California Car Cover has different grades, if it is heavy duty where its made to be stored outside in the dead of a midwest snow and ice storm...........no a little water dripping will not *********. Now if it is one that is just a dust cover, then yes it might.

My garage door does not have the problem yours has though so I can't comment from personal experience besides to say mine doesn't do that and as far as I know that is unique to your situation.

I had a garage door that did a similar thing. I just did not open it when it was raining and wait till it was dry. I never drive the viper in the rain anyway.

Earth?
Or, possibly extend the eaves above the garage door a little ways out and see if it keeps the door dryer.

My garage door does the same thing. :(

Thank God - I don't feel so stupid now at least.

I guess the answer is to order a different car cover. I have the California Car Cover Tan Flannel cover right now and it lets the water through. Guess I will give them a call to see what they recommend.

P.S.
Not opening the door isn't an option. It is our main method of coming and going. The door is opened dozens of times each day.

Mine too,

I was thinking about mounting either rubber or thick vinyl to the inside. It would have to be flexible with a little extra material to flex when the door is opening.

These strips would be about 5 inches and run the length down the hinge. could be held in place with furring strip.

May not be perfect, but would solve a bunch of the problem.

Because he needs help keeping his Viper dry.

Sometimes people jump on off topics way to fast. While some do nto belong I do not see an issue here.

I could be wrong but I think you can get a different door to help prevent dripping when wet during the opening of the door.

The other thing I can think of is some type of catch along break of each panel on the inside. A simple channel that uses the hinge screws to attach. They would not have to be big as it would not have to catch very much water. There has to be something on the market.... Then again maybe I just made something.
