i would like to get my car on a dyno to find out my hp.

Yes.Kennedy's Automotive.3165 Niagara Falls blvd.693-5354.They have a dynojet.I think Brock Yates among others have taken a car there for a tune up and run.Sorry I can't join you.Only 200 miles on the car.Finishing up the zaino sequence this week. Bruce

i now have 2800 miles ... in the next few weeks i will be adding
ebc pads,an optima battery and 5 pt harnesses.

I called the mentioned shop about the dyno
he quoted me $79 for 2 pulls and $125 if i want diagonistic
info about air in and out? i have no knowledge at all about a dyno test. just wanted to know the hp. should i get the extra info for tuning purposes? do i really want to try to tune a 2001 with 2800 miles if i dont plan i going to the track?
can you hurt the car by dynoing it?
any input appricated

A stock Viper cannot be "tuned", the stock computer does not have any reflash capability.
The only way to slightly "tune" would be through Roe Racing's kit.
Dyno price seems fair...if not cheap!

That price does sound fair. I'd do it to get a good
baseline of HP. This info will be great for future
mods like headers, rockers, headwork ect.
Joe is correct about not being able to "tune" the computer
without Sean's VEC.

I've been over at Kennedy's. They're a nice bunch of guys over there. They did a 500 HP Viper back in 96 or 97. 15K for the job. I forget what the dyno numbers ended up being. Somewhere around 550 RWHP I think. My car is going in to Competition Transmission in North Tonawanda soon. Dave Putman is a friend of mine. He'll be installing my new high flow cats and 3" exhaust from PartsRack, and a little misc. tuning. Maybe we can hook up one night for a cruise. I'm just over the peace bridge about a block.
