I finally got my car dyno'd. It's a 98 GTS with B&B Exhaust, Cat delete, Smooth tube, and K&N's. I'm a little worried about the air fule levels down low...seems to lean. I did a cat delete without a full reset of the pcm, would that cuse the car to be running a little lean? Well, the car made 439rwhp and 478rwtq so I'm pretty happy with that.

Why'd they start measuring power at 2500? I started mine at 750 and it was at ~300lb/ft by 1000. I love showing people how much torque the Viper makes where there car idles. ;)

Awesome numbers BTW.

yep, that looks about right for the mods

don't worry about those AFRs
on a N/A motor that is fine

some dynos don't read very low because most cars don't need to be tuned that low in the rpm

Your air fuel looks great.

You need to worry more at the high RPM's and they look good there.

Why would you think that your viper is running too lean? Is that what your Dyno Tech told you?

Im no expert, but i have been reading alot about engine management recently since i got an SCT Programer and i think your AFR's look nice.

Good Numbers!

AFR looks good for a N/A engine. What year is your Viper?

I am currently looking for a Viper right now actually...just trying to decide on what year to get. I am pretty sure that the 99 had the forged internals and abs (not that abs matters much), but I am curious if the 2001 or 2002 model year had the forged internals as I do know, or I think I know that the 2000 model did not.

When I put down 1,020rwhp in my Supra I was in the low 11's for my AFR, but that is forced induction. In your NA you don't need to worry about the AFR going by that graph you showed us...it looks pretty good.

Just for reference I tuned the AEM standaolone on a mineral gray Viper here in Kansas City and it put down 528rwhp at the last Viper club meet. I think he had cams, exhaust, filter...I will have to check on the details again and I will let you know for comparison sake.

Do you have any future mods you are going to be doing to it? Again, congrats on the numbers! :)

I came from a Supra as-well ad was used to mid 12's for my AFR. Actually, you polished a Turbo housing that I had. 96-99 had the forged internals, the 2001 and up and ABS.

No, I wanted to do the before dyno before putting on those headers...noone has done a before and after with the "crappy" headers. :2tu:

1996-99 = forged internals and no ABS
2000 = not forged internals and no ABS
2001-02 = not forged internals and ABS

Buy my silver 98 with no stripes.

Slowsupratt: Change your fuel filter and check your fuel pressure. Your fuel curve should go rich alot sooner than what its doing on a stock tune. It looks like mine when I had low fuel pres. I ended up with cleaning the injectors, new pump and filter, and changing the map sensor. All problems solved!

Thanks for the info on that...much appreciated. I will more than likely try to stick with the forged internals unless I decide I would like to build the engine anyway then the year won't matter much at that point. ABS probably isn't really a factor unless the brakes are very difficult to find the edge on without skidding?

I really only want around 800rwhp or so with the car, so not sure if I will really need to build the engine for that kind of power, but I am assuming probably not?

Here are some photos of the Viper I completely tuned from ground up that had the AEM standalone...last time he dynoed he put down around 20rwhp more than the graph below. I thought you might be interested in the graph, but I will need to find the exact mods again and I will let you know.

Thanks for the info.

Shoot me over some photos of it. How many miles are on the car, mods, power, etc? What is the price going to be at and what state is the car located?

EDIT: I see that your info states you are in Phoenix, but is that updated? You can just PM me the info if you would like, so we don't clutter up this thread.

Thanks

A couple more comment, your a/f is a typical viper curve. One other thing is they used a STD correction, that makes the hp look higher than the more typical SAE.
