I am trying to find a GOOD dyno around Chicago, and I have found a couple shops with Mustang Dynos. Is that any good?

What dynos are the best and I should try to find?

Thanks

I am sure somebody will chime in with locations as well as more specific info about the two types of dynos most commonly used. The Dyno jet is known to yeild higher rwhp #s than the Mustang Dyno. The reason being, is that the Mustang dyno will run your car with a pre-set load on your engine. To make it as close to real life driving. I however, have always used a dyno jet and have always produced numbers that were confirmed by performance at the track. You can't really go wrong with either. Best of luck and let us know how she runs!

Casey,

Depends on your goal.

If you are trying to find out gains from mods than any type of dyno will work for you. If you are trying to compare your power vs the power others make, then you will need to find a dyno jet.

The problem is many people are under the false illusion that dyno numbers are comperable shop to shop. Unfortunatly this is not true and will get many peoples ******* up tight when they find out their 430rwhp stock creampuff only made 394 hp at a properly opperated dyno facility.

Dyno Day at Street Stuff was great. Additionally, if you've lowered the car at all not all operators will be able to guaranty your fascia is still intact when your pulls are done. Street Stuff does plenty of Vipers and knows the drill when dealing with minimal ground clearances.
