This item was too good to be true. E-mailed the seller about purchase and he wrote back in broken English that he would close the auction early for $2000 by Western Union only. He then sent a spoof 'Ebay' e-mail with payment instructions which I forwarded to Ebay to catch this crook. The auction will likely be gone soon as they have already determined it was a false e-mail. The auction already had 5 bids and I'm hoping to have saved a possible VCA member from being ripped off. I actually e-mailed him after the auction reached $2500 and he still wanted to sell it for $2000...what a numbskull!

Thanks for the heads up, I almost bid. BTW, how do you like your roe cats, did you feel any differences. I'm thinking of picking a pair up.

Inferno,

I like the ROE HFC's. For the money, I don't think they can be beat. They keep my sill temperatures way down and of course, add to the deep, throaty exhaust note along with my RT catback.

Glad to have helped a couple of you guys. I love finding bargains on Ebay but $2000 for a Roe S/C plus a Fuel pump voltage booster and VEC2 is absurd! If it looks too good to be true....... BTW, Ryan, do you have another Viper to supercharge?

For future reference for everyone... ALWAYS BEWARE if the seller does not accept paypal.

It is nearly free to use and offers all kind of protection for the buyer and seller.

If they can't accept paypal... they don't need my money!

Been doing eBay transactions for 6+ years now and have maintained 100% feedback.

Also... don't buy from if the positive feedback/transactions ratio is not superb.

Just my $.02

I agree but, but identity theft is becoming more common on Ebay so the seller may not actually be legitimate. This guy had a perfect feedback out of 5 transactions but he was only the buyer in those cases. I always look for feedback that shows they have sold a bunch in the past without problems. But again, ID theft is happening...just be careful! If a person insists on Western Union for payment, you can bet it's a scam.

I agree for the most part. For a high dollar auction I would probably avoid Papal just because of the costs involved, or allow only cash Paypal (eliminating credit option).

Another funny tidbit was that I e-mailed the seller, asking exactly this: "Yo man, hook me up with this blower for $2000. Where can I send the money to get stolen?"

And he still sent back an e-mail giving directions for me to send the money. Too funny!

no, i just noticed that i had not updated my information in about 2 yrs. including geographic location...sorry 'bout that. i had purchased a blower about 2 yrs ago, then due to other obligations it did not make since to keep it, so the dealer i was going through sold it to another buyer. my info should now show that i am not currently "blown" :( but would now like to "head" in that direction. thanks again anyway though.

I actually emailed this guy this morning on the blower, before I saw this post. I kind of figured it was a scam but I thought I would send out a line and see what happened.

I wrote: "I have a couple of quick questions for you... You mention this was set up for 8lbs of boost, are any of the other pulleys, 5 or 6.5lb included with this kit? Also, it appears as though there are polished throttle bodies attached to the intake tubes, are these also included?"

Seller whose email name is "hi mr" writes: "Yes this was set up for 8lbs of boost and also have pulley 6.5lb included.Tthere are polished throttle bodies attached to the intake tubes and yes are also included. If you`ll pay me $2100 we have a deal.I wait your reply."

This is where I thought things were screwy since this person basically re-iterated what I already stated.

So I wrote: "Do you accept paypal?"

"hi mr" writes: "I don`t have a paypal account and for a new member they will release the money after a month but i am a verified seller and i will contact ebay to send you an email confirmation and my payment details."

About 7 minutes later I get a goofy looking email from Ebay thats says: "The seller Kewin Walker is a registered. Buy with confidence!"

You would think Ebay would use better english, and probably wouldn't say anyone is "a registered."

Anyways the address that was given was:

Kewin Walker
2352 S Canal St.
Chicago, IL 60616

Funny, the auction says it is in South Carolina...

And sure enough the email is asking for $2,100 via Western Union.

I replied: "Can you please send me some more pictures, and give me some more technical info on the supercharger?"

We'll see if I get any response...

Let's all bombard this jackasp with questions and see how well he knows his blower! We did this a few times over on a Porsche website and we literally ran the seller away. Pretty funny, what a bunch of people can do.

Regarding Paypal "...don't trust anyone who doesn't accept Paypal..."

Unfortunately, Paypal is the Fraudulent Buyer's tool of choice.

As a seller you can get completely burned by a chargeback (buyer disputes credit card charge.)

You sent the part, buyer says you sent a box of rocks, you're screwed.

These UPS stores and parcel stores should offer a service where you bring the item, unboxed for shipment, they box it and certify its description in the box. At least then that would eliminate these boxes of rocks.
