I did my topic search, and I gathered that the main debate would be stopping performance... well I don't track my car, not even as much as the 1/4... I have a new set of stock pads on and like most I sound like a freight train stopping when I hit the brakes... I was wondering if anyone who had the Greens has ANY squeal? are they THAT good? even if the Greens caused the same amount of dust I'd be ok, but the squeal from the stocks are killin me! I'm willing to dump the new pads and switch to Greens if it makes that much difference... thx for the info :)

I have them on my car with the eradispeed rotors, no squeal, minimal dust.... car stops fine on the street with them, I haven't been road racing or autocrossing with them yet.....

The green's will eliminate the squeal and dust problem. You will notice they don't stop as good as stock pads. They are sufficient for street use but for track use get something else. Prep your rotors prior to installing the EBC's.

Actually, in my experience, they stop better than stock pads on the street, and are much better for autocrossing, as they allow you to modulate the brakes right at lockup better. Net win for me in all departments - half the price and don't wear out in half the time (they do wear out slightly faster, but, for half the price thats fine with me), less dust, better stopping, and dropped times in autocross noticably.

I used EBC greens on my '95 for probably 40k out of 70k miles, and put them on my '00 within a week after I bought the car 14k miles ago.

I installed Greens without prepping the stock rotors and have just as much dust and just as much squeal as OEM.... <- my fault

CitySnake: The reason it bothers me is it will take me almost a decade to drive 5000 miles, but when I do drive it I don't want to be embarrased by the factory installed sqeal.

I switch to greens on the front and my original OEM on the rear between track events. I don't prep the rotors. When they were new they didn't squeel and they still don't. Dust is down from the OEM.

Stopping seems fine for my needs.

What do you mean exactly by "prepping the stock rotors"?

Scuffing them thoroughly...I use an electric drill and a 3 inch sanding disc (about 100-120 grit).

here's my old post:

"Here,s the info, Jim. I use 3M "Brake Rotor Surfacing Discs" ("Drill Mounted Starter Kit")...part number 01410....often stocked by your friendly SnapOn man...especially here in Indy!! The discs are 3" in daimeter, and are 120 grit...9 come in starter kit...as well as "orbital" type backing plate. I generally use 1-1.5 discs per Viper...great result, big time saver (you can leave front rotors in place)."

awesome, thanks guys.... I'll be picking some up.... the squeal those stocks make is unbelievable lol

You are selling anyway stll right?

I guess you can say I'm gauging interest, but by far do not need to sell... I just lowered to 47,900... and I do have a min amount that I'd except, if I don't get it I will absolutely just keep it... I'm only selling to play with another toy... (black on black, maybe ACR..???) or something of that nature :)

Throwing some EBC greens would help whether I keep OR sell... the squeal irritates me so I'm sure it would irritate a buyer... and since I'm not dead set on selling... I'll still be getting bit by the mod bug!

EBC Green Stuff will dust for a while. If you get dust in the beginning just keep on driving. Follow break in procedures.
Love the Green Stuff :)
