Does anyone have a set of Edelbrock headers on their Gen1? If so, is there a notice in horsepower? Do they help cut down on engine compartment heat by chance?

I put mine on so long ago I don't remember if there is less heat but I'm sure that it's less. As far as power mine put down 429 rwhp with the Edelbrock headers and Borla cat back. Except for where I scratched them they look like new.

I had Edelbrock's on my Gen 1. I didn't dyno the car before/after, but I did pick up .3 sec & 3 mph in the 1/4 when I added them. They put off more heat in the engine compartment. Make sure you get some spark plug booties if you get the headers.

..Know a guy who added the Edelbrock headers and larger throttle bodies (at the same time) to his G1 over one winter, and didn't even gain .01 sec at the strip the following Spring.

Sounds about right. I think the consensus is that larger throttle bodies without other significant engine mods actually decrease power.

I heard the same exact info. about adding larger throttle bodies to a basically stock engine.... no increase and possible power loss.
