hi helpers,

on my 2000 RT i have this funny problem:

as soon as i turn the key to "on" all the lights come up in the instrument panel as they should.
also the fuel pump builds up pressure.

after 2-3 sec. a relay switches (auto shut off?) and all the lights come back on, also the fuel pump starts running again.

the hole on and off will not stop till i start the engine. no problems with that.

i can notice the auto shut off relay and a relay in the front right of the bumber switching. (what kind of relay is there??)

any help? got a brand new battery, switched lots of componates thanks to my lucky situation of having 2 RT's... ( fuel pump relay, auto shut of relay...)

thanks from over the pond, patrick

Explaining Viper things to you
Try resetting the PCM. If you just got a new battery then that may have just happened anyway, but do it this way.

-> Disconnect battery and touch positive cable to frame. I took a file to the tray hanger rod by the positive post to remove a little paint, to ensure the cable would ground.

-> Reconnect cable.

-> Turn key to on. Do not start car.

-> Push gas pedal to max and release. Do this 5 times to set WOT.

-> Turn key to off for 20 seconds.

-> Start car.

Swissboy, if you try Dave's suggestion, and it works, then great.

But if it doesn't fix your problem, you might try sending a message directly to Dan Cragin, or another other Viper guru.

They might not read these forums all that much!
