Hmmmm, so Tuesday my viper goes in for inspection ... right now I am about 30 miles under the mileage limit and the car wouldn't have to go through emissions inspection.

So, do I keep the car in the garage for a few days, drive it and plead with the tech to allow a few extra miles, or just forget about it and drive?

Have it towed up to near the inspection station and unload it right down the street and have it inspected.

I'd say forget about it and drive. It's always nerve racking to turn the car over to someone else but I make sure to tell them as politely as possible that this car is like a child to me so don't hurt it in any way. :)

I just took mine down to the local smog shop ready to ask them to let me help with the inspection, thinking they would say no...Then the tech "suggested I do all the mechanical parts; open and close hood, drive on and off the dyno" and he would gently run it through the paces. After it passed his clerk told me the tech was worried about his liability if he were to mess the car up...just take it in.
