tonight, after returning from a 2000 mile trip in my viper up to Va....with no problems, i went out for an evening on the town. while driving down the road i noticed a warning light come on. the light was the "engine light", not the "check engine" light at the top center of the cluster....(94 rt/10). The light just says engine and has a engine pic below it. any ideas as to what could be causing this. Is there a difference between the "engine" light and the "check engine" light, i assume there is or else dodge wouldn't have put them both in the car. Also the light goes out when i accelerate at a good rate. oil and all other fluids for that matter are in good shape. I searched threads about engine lights and every one i could find was the check light. BTW the car is running fine no missfire or any other abnormal signs. Any and all help with ideas to fix my ugly red visitor on the dash will be much apriciated.
thanks,
ryan

Ryan,

I have the same problem & have not resolve the issue. It definitely does reduce performance. There is about 5 sensors that trip this light - I have not yet checked. I will post after testing each sensor & input.

My engine light came on once about 2500 miles ago. What I did was disconnect the computer for about 10 minutes, then re-connected and what do you know, light gone and everything operating normally.
