Ok, I want to replace the stock viper shifter lever (not neccissarily the shifter unit) on my 2008 Viper. I'm used to just being able to do that by removing two bolts at the shifter, then the shifter stalk/shaft is removable. I haven't taken the boot off but from looking at pictutes, the shifter seems to screw in a female threaded receiver hole and doesnt attach by two bolts. My question is, is there a vender who sells an adapter to enable the factory viper shifter to accept a 2 bolt aftermarket shifter stick? I want to use a short Hurst flat stick and a different shifter handle. Any advice is much appreciated...

Thanks

I am a fan of the old school pistol grip shifters, I just removed the shifter, cut the stock handle and welded on what I wanted. By the time you get an adaptor, bolt on an aftermarket shifter you might find that the shifter is getting too tall.

Voodoo, what you did (using the Hurst shifter lever/stick is exactly what I want to do. Did you just cut a part of the factory shifter and weld them together or did you use any sort of adapter...any pictures of that?
