Engine Management Computer \"Learns?\"

I was told by the Viper tech at the dealer that the onboard computer that controls the Viper's engine function is programmed to adjust to your driving style over time. He said that, in particular, the engine will adjust to your particular habits regarding rev ranges, acceleration, etc. His comment was that a viper which is regularly driven "hard" will, over time, react better to such driving, as the engine management software will make adjustments to optimize such performance.

Seemed a bit far-fetched to me, until I saw similar claims in Subaru's sales literature regarding their Impreza WRX STI sedan. Anyone else heard this about the Viper? True? Not true? One more reason not to drive my Viper like a granny?

Re: Engine Management Computer

The guy at west coast viper told me he dyno'd a stock 04 at 480 to the wheels, saying the owner drove the car very hard as he broke it in, and recomended to break the car in the same way you would normally drive it. so there is some truth to it, also when you change air intakes, the car will be sluggish for 50 or so miles until the computer "learns" the air mixture is different and corrects it
