Any suggestions. My 98 RT/10 when coming to a stop and shifting back into 1st gear the motor revs slightly up and then back down. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Could be the engine's computer adjusting to an intake manifold gasket leak. If so, it will get worse and hang at the higher rpm longer. Do a search on "idle" or suchlike.

Mine just started doing that the past couple of times I drove it, and it is very intermitent. On some of my other cars the factory computer bumps up the idle when the battery is low, and it so happens to be that the battery on the snake is running low. Perhaps the Viper does the same thing to keep the battery voltage up.

Mine just started the hanging idle thing recently. It did the same when I first got my 1997 GTS and the intake gasket fix took care of it. Many on here have put a restrictor (e.g., a socket from a socket wrench set or smaller diameter hose) in the hose to the idle air motor and swear that does the trick. On my car I strongly suspect that I have some sensor going bad (TPS or MAP), but I have no codes to confirm that. My car hangs at 1,700-2000 and will work its way down to 750 over 10-15 seconds, sometimes revving up and down a bit on the way down to 750. Something ain't right, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. I am gonna try the restricted hose trick next.
