I'm attempting to build my own side exhaust and need a set of secondary cats from a Gen3 or 4. If anyone has their original exhaust sitting collecting dust please PM me and I will pay a reasonable price for them.

Thanks everyone,
Sal

I have the whole cat set from my 2006. Took it off at 3300 miles. It is complete set, first and second cat, can not unbolt. PM me an offer. I can email you pics if you want. If all you want is the second cat, I can cut out and ship that only to save you shipping cost.

PM me your address. You can have them for the cost of shipping. It's not like I'm going to use them. I'm fixing to take my oem ones off my 08, don't need two sets laying around. If you have your own ups account, I can ship collect.

Good luck with your project.

So I gotta ask - if youre building your own system, why even bother put in the secondary cat?

Reduce the sound level and 2 of the best builders in the industry said it was the way to go. The secondary cats flow better than any high flow cats on the market and are better made. Power loss will be minimal since I'm putting almost 700 to the wheels. Love the sound of the Kooks but they are just too loud and resonators will change the sound.

Whats your current setup? Catbacks?

B&B headers, no cats and I think Mopar race or stock exhaust. The mufflers are about 30" long with no markings at all. Here is a photo of them wrapped. Will be selling when Kooks system is done. Just too low and loud for my taste.

Nice wrapping. I use similar setup with catless 3" corsa catback and acrx (style) headers. It is too loud for me (and I believe for everyone).

Do you have any idea about the hp loss with the secondary resonators?

I asked both Dan at VSP and Doug Levin at DLM and one of them said it would be minimal but I'm running a Paxton and wouldn't notice a loss. I'll probably re-dyno to see what kind of loss but since I'm going from the restrictive Mopar mufflers to the Kooks flow thru I'm not sure if any loss will be seen. I just hope it's similar to the sound on the Kooks site.

Cats should be here today thanks to a generous member and when I have a few hours I'll mock up the system and try to post some photos and maybe a video depending on the quality of my phone's audio. I'm not fortunate enough to have a helmet cam like Twister.

I run secondary OE cats, enlarged to 3 inches behind the headers (in the sill) in my Paxton car. They work great, cut the volume down a bit, which is my taste too and pass the sniffer.

They are pretty hard to beat.

I had Lou Belanger fabricate an "around the corner" pipe for me so that I can do the same thing in my 09 ACR, again, a full 3 inch set up behind Belanger headers and ahead of a 3-inch Corsa Track.

Good luck,

Dan
