Exhuast upgrade

I have an early 93 and would like it to sound as good as it looks. I've checked the site sponsors and don't see any thing to fit a car this old. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Cat back system on a '94 is just a muffler and an elbow right? There may be a little piece of pipe to make the length, but that can't be more than a couple inches. Why are they so much money?

Question? How loud do you want it. If I did not have other considerations (right seater) I would stay with what I have which is (all from PartsRack):

A member and good customer here [A.C.] in Fla approached me 1.5 yrs ago for a G-1 cat-back. I sent him to Roe Racing.

But I wondered why a G-1 cat-back was so much $$ from Borla, etc. So partsRack commissioned Belanger to build an "adjustable kit of parts" with slip-fit joints, hanger material, HF muffler, and a NICE 3" chrome tip. {unlike 2.5" oe } The kit must be partley welded, partly clamped. "Under $600" VCA Member price.. way under, as BIRD just found out, thanks.

Used by itself, it adds a NICE muscle-car tone and volume....but adding HF cats in a quest for HP and coolness as Tomcat did is likley to earn a spousal scolding. I hear that his street, Quiet Hill Ct. is now called Decibel Drive............

JonB, can't start the car in the garage since it cracks the sheetrock. I have my wife push the car out before I start it. Maybe that's why she has the problem!

Seriously, I am having it quieted down with two types of insets and will post revised db numbers and rwhp when I get the car back from Mr. Sessions. You can then offer the manly exhaust and the spousal friendly version that does not rob hp gains.

Does anyone have just the Belanger Kit? What's the sound like? I bought it and install next week. Please advise (passenger over sensitive).

If you want to SAVE money and do a great job, and have a good welder available, you might try what I did for my '94 RT/10. I ordered from J.C. Whitney 8 feet of 3" stainless steel pipe, plus 4 mandrel bent L's and from Summit Racing two Borla mufflers (email me for the part numbers, as I don't remember them offhand). The cost was about $450, including shipping and labor. Now I have learned you can also get 3" flex tubing (where exhausts meet exhaust manifolds) from Stainless works at 1-800-878-3635. I didn't use, and didn't include in the $450 price, the $95 each for the flex tubing. These are not absolutely necessary to get gobs of extra h.p. and much quicker revs. I guarntee the 3" tubing and Borlas will get the job DONE! Good luck, and good hunting.
