Put my 1996 GTS in the shop for an oil leak - Dealer tells me it was leaking from the timing cover gasket and main rear seal - Tranny had to be pulled.
They advised I was entitled to an improved radiator fan and a new Alarm module. All items covered by the Extended Warranty
This visit certainly justified the cost of the warranty
I'm one very happy Dodge customer

Are the radiator fan, PCV valve harness, etc TSB's for the '96 GTS? If so, will my Chrysler extended warranty on my '96 GTS cover these upgrades without my having any apparent problems with them? Thanks!

Regarding the Fan and alarm replacement.
This car run at incredibly consistant temperature and I have not had any problems with the alarm system, other than breaking the rather thin plastic loop on the key fobs (both of them)
This work was done at the dealers insistance and I would assume dodge pays for it because they beleive the work should be done - Bravo to both the Dealer and the Manufacturer. It makes me look at other Dodge products (2003 Viper - if we could just get to see some decent professional pictures - Personally I was very disappointed in the quality of the shots on the Dodge website. However - time will cure this I'm sure.)
Having owned Fords and Chevys both (Still do) I have never had Manufacturer support like Dodge provides us Viper Owners - club support - quarterly magazine - event support - the Invitationals and more.
I hope those of you wanna be viper owners get this - A great Car and even greater support - go buy!!!!

Despite some rare flack, I recommend a Service Contract on almost every eligible Viper.

Your DEALER is also to be congratulated for being alert the the upgrades and TSBs. Those elements are "MUST" additions to any 96-97 Viper. I wonder if the PCV harness is already replaced? Another "must have" for a 96-97.

Anyone w/ 96-97 (and some early 98s) can E-me for these inexpensive, beneficial mods. (Alarm can be spendy) Yes, I'll try and make a small sale, but at least you'll KNOW what is needed!
