Sound, as Mark said, is the best indicator. Look out back and see what your rear muffler looks like and if it has some squiggly looking puny tailpipes it is most likely stock. Although to tell for sure you almost need to pull the sills to take a look at your cats and sill muffler too.

If it looks like the rusted out piece of garbage that's on my car, it's a stock exhaust:

Thanks kcobean, those look exactly like mine except for the rust. I guess the PO of my car never got the underside wet, or dirty, or oily. Good for me. Going to pull off the sill soon to see what's in there. Mine doesn't sound lke a UPS truck so something's been done. Having that big, lumpy idle doesn't hurt either.

Glad I could help. It's painful to look at that crap on such a beautiful car. I see a Corsa cat-back in my near future. I've heard it and I love it.

That's what mine looks like, little less rusty than that. My car is missing the driveshaft though

LOL...Hey when you get your car back together, you need to stroll up to Dulles on a Friday night and hang out at the car show. I'm usually one of 3 or 4 Vipers up there (and there's the occasional Aston, Lambo, Ford GT, Bentley, etc.) It's a good time. We can compare rusty exhausts! ;)

Definitely. I used to take my GTS to the Chick Filet show a lot back in the day, never saw another viper there though. I think Hemihead started going to it shortly after I sold my last GTS.

I actually just started the procedure today. Pretty easy so far. I love working on these things, so simple. And yes, I have been taking pictures. I'm ready to unbolt the tranny but I need a new clutch kit, so I may hold off till next weekend.

Kelly did you replace that exhaust clamp nut? That would be one shiny part on your exhaust system. LOL

LOL...No, it's still missing. I figure at this point, why bother. When I put the Corsa on, it won't matter anyway.
