Dimitrios and myself along with a FEW others are going to Englishtown next week. Where are all these big HP Vipers(you know who you are) I always hear about from Long Island(and surrounding areas) ? I'm calling you guys out. Lets go boys. Enough with the car shows and cruises out East. Time to put up.

Also inviting new comers to the drag strip. Will gladly help out with getting you hooked. Dimitrios did it and now can't stop.

Have fun guys. I really don't have any interest in racing and breaking, which will happen, it's a matter of time. I use my car as a daily driver (if this rain would ever end) and love the feel of all that torque when I get ot open her up here and there. Also, I don't particularly want a roll bar in the car. Everyone wants different things out of their cars.
Enjoy!!!

I'm pretty confident that with a built motor pushing 13 lbs of boost with drag radials I might see some times that would require a roll bar.

Sorry Marc,

Didn't know you had all that. Who built your car and what kind of dyno numbers ? All that done and you don't want to race it ???

I built it, with a little help from Jason. Used Lab Machine in Lindenhurst to do the work on the block, pistons, rods, heads. Crower ground me up a cam based on the flow #'s of the heads and how much boost I would be running. Jason sold me all the parts he uses in his SC system. I dumped it all into the car. I have actually never had it on a dyno since I did all the work. I tuned it on the street using an Fjo wideband O2. The car is somewhere between 800-900 which is good enough for me, for now. I didn't say I never race, just don't want to take it to the track where I'm going to be coming off the line hard and eventually snapping something. I've already dumped enough money into this car. This is the second go around on this motor. First I pulled it and set it up for NA and then a while later made the mistake of driving Dan Blacks DLM Viper(your old car) and realizing I just didn't have enough power. So out came the motor again. My wife keeps reminding me that we still have to put 2 kids through college eventually and I shouldn't keep dumping money in the Viper. It's hard enough just keeping rubber on the tires.

Sounds like a fast car. I don't know if I have seen it. They are money pits, but well worth it in my opinion. I'm just trying to stir some guys up to come racing. It ***** always being the only Viper and having 20 Vettes there. Do you bring it to the beach on Sundays ?

The times I have gone, you have not been there. I'm sure we will hook up eventually. In the spring it was easy to get away, but in the summer I have a bunch going on. This weekend doesn't look like the weather is going to be too nice either. Have fun at the track and keep getting people down there. I know if you hadn't pushed Dimitrios, he probably wouldn't have started racing. Then again, he probably would have had the stock rubber on the car which takes the turns much better than the BFG's and might not have crashed. Ahh what am I talking about, I've seen him drive, would have gone off the road either way!

Don't know if I'll be ready, still welding in the roll bar and packing the parachute. You know the prep on these fast cars.

What time are you guys meeting at Englishtown on Friday? I might stop by if I get home early enough.

E-Town opens at 5:00 start running at 6:00 and close at 10:00.

Bring that Heffner car. Would be cool having 2 FE's going together.

I need some competition...

If all goes well at work, I am hoping to split a little early and go directly to the track around 6:00 or so. I probably won't be much competition as I have no roll bar. :( I will have to be conservative so I don't get kicked off. :smirk: Let alone this will be my first time at the track after the mods. I am sure it is going to be a handful. :headbang:

As far as the T/A, there are not many around that have not been molested too badly. You could probably pick up a good #2 car for around $15k. 1978 was the best year in terms of power between the 77-81 cars. Unfortunately, I don't know of any cars for sale locally. There are always some in Hemmings though. :2tu:

What I do is make a few 1/8 mile passes and then blow one out the back at the end of the night.
