Faster? Stock 2000 GTS or ZRI Vette

i'm going to fence sit and say that it could go either way.. both are high powered sports cars and its going to come down to driver competence..

My 94 ZR-1 - 12.60 @ 116 mph
My 99 ACR - 12.14 @119

Both cars equipped with headers, 3" exhaust, no cats. ZR-1 had 4.10 gears and DRM chip.

Don't underestimate a ZR-1. They run exceptionally well and IMO are superior to the ZO6 (again IMO only).

Whats up with the trap speed on the GTS? I was running higher trap speeds with my Gen 1? Are you at a high altitude or something?

As I said that was the first time I had taken the Viper (new acquisition) to the track and found just a slight difference in shifting - therefore I was more conservative, gentle or whatever that in the ZR-1. Garth

I can answer this one.
Stock, the only way the ZR1 will win, is if you miss 2 shifts

,(ok maybe one and a half), in the 1/4 mile.
However here are the mods to my car: degreed cams, headers, 3" exhaust, ported plenum and injector housings, chip, single mass flywheel and cold air box. Best 1/4 with off the throttle shifts 12.2 at 119.8, 2.1 short time. I have heard that a stock GTS can do even better than that, but it's close.

Now here's where it gets interesting, my zr1 will pull away from my gts when the speedometer hits in the 120's and keep pulling to 155. (My friend let off after that, but i never knew that my ZR1 really looks good from the rear.)

Best of all my car looks like a stock zr1 or for people who don't know a run of the mill vette. I have shocked a lot of people in this car, especially ferraris and porsches.

Point being do not underestimate these ZR1's . I know about 10 people in my area that own these and none of them are stock, and all have tremendous top end. Some are running in the 11's with no NOS.
