Yes, the viper's V10 is an evolution of what was originally a heavy duty truck engine, but in the Gen 5 the sound is nothing like any truck I've heard...especially since most trucks have a V8, whether gas or diesel. The smaller UPS trucks have a 4 ****** diesel and the bigger ones like the one dynoballs linked to have an inline 6 diesel. I don't care what someone in a video said...but I can concede that the sound of the Viper's V10 is an acquired taste that may never appeal to some people.

In other threads you were bringing up stuff like abnormal ride harshness, handling with snow tires, carbon footprint and probably other things I don't remember but also am not going to look up. So get one!

Do you think about lukewarm pizza with rubbery cheese every time you hear a honda buzz by?

No i was asking people if the ride was harsh since it has the same shocks as my car and they **** ass on my car. And I wanted to know if people had put winter tires on since I would need to drive it during the winter months since it gets cold here but doesn't really snow. And I could care less about carbon footprint.

So what else are we going to pick at to argue for the sake of arguing?

Right, and those are not reasonable concerns for someone considering purchasing a viper. Would you walk into a lambo dealer and say, "I really like this gallardo but can I get a set of snow tires for it"? Or would you think that if you put the Viper's shocks on a hyndai accent, that the accent will handle/feel like the viper?

Point is stop talkin about it and buy it.

ive owned 5 vipers all gens, had fun with allof them.i have owned 355,360 and a 430 and loved them all,and also had a gallardo,i prefer the 430 over the gallardo.also u cant compare viper int to a bentley theres no comparsion.im considering the new viper but will wait a year or so when they hit lower prices,i bought my new 08 srtvert and in 1 year it dropped over40k so no more new vipers for me.

If I could first just fit into the gen5 Viper then one day I can say "Finally drove the SRT viper"

Unfortunately, no shoulder room for my massive shoulders and arms.....

Actually, NO. When I hear a Honda buzz by I think of the wonderful sounds of a blender mixing up a chocolate milk shake with double chocolate Ice Cream added to make it really thick.....OMG, I am getting hungry/salivating just talking about it..... I gotta go ..... to the freezer to get me some "scream"

I have driven both the GTS and the SRT. After driving an 08 Coupe and 09 ACR as my past 2 Vipers, I would have to say that the refined GEN V still has a very raw feel to it, but the new interior really sets that car apart from the previous versions. The initial startup sounds amazing and the instant power is a lot better than the previous GEN. THis Car has the best of both worlds for newer Viper owners and the old die hards. I really like the feel of the new car.

I am content with keeping my ACR for now.

If I am buying the viper and it is going to be my only car then it needs to be able to drive in 20 degree weather. Don't need it to drive in snow but summer tires don't operate under 40 or did you not know that in your infinite argumentative wisdom? Also yea if the car is too bumpy to the point where I am bouncing up and down every 2 seconds I'm on the road then I won't want to drive the car. That **** gets old and annoying after the novelty runs out. Why do you think mclaren spent so much money so that the mp4 12c literally can ride smoother than a rolls royce. Literally it does....why? Because people will want to drive it every day then.

Your concerns are really confusing. Your written response after driving the Viper points out very strongly you never intended to get one and you just wanted to drive it. Secondly, why you would buy a Viper as your only vehicle perplexes me. Apparently it snows where you're at and why you are comfortable driving a $130k around on ice is beyond me. Why not get rid of stang, buy a cheap daily driver, enjoy the Viper when reasonable? Look, you've made a lot of posts that show you really aren't the Viper type and now you've driven one with no intentions to buy. This is why no one wanted to let you or most anyone else test drive. You just did exactly what every dealer feels people will do. You wasted a sales guy's time and put needless miles on probably one of just a couple of allocations for that dealer. I seriously think a GTR suits you better. Closest thing to an all weather sports car in your budget.

First off.....how do you know what my budget is? 2nd are you dumb? Where did I say I am going to drive it in the snow or ice? I think I said multiple times i need to drive it in cold weather. Does that mean snow and ice or temps below 40? I actually have every intent of buying one but clearly you know everything about my intentions? Idc for the GTR I've driven 5 of them. 3rd I don't want a DD ******. If I want to drive my viper every day then f**k I'm going to drive it every day. Does it bother you? Does it effect you? Is it any of your ******** business?

**** for the rest of your life now. Your post has been the most idiotic one I've received to date on this forum. I rather hear peerblock's nonsense over the BS coming out of your mouth at least some of what he says I can make sense of. Have a nice day.

First, you've made posts about your budget. Second, you mentioned snow tires so I made an assumption. I'm not sure where you live, but anyone who makes a comment like that usually lives in an area where there is atleast ice some days out of the year. Hence, my comment (commons sense ). As for the rest of your post, it just comes off an animosity because I called you out on what you were really doing and it bothered you. I know you'll lie to yourself and what not to deny what I posted, but everyone, including PeerBlock, is making posts in response to you with the same assumptions/attitude. So, back to the common sense aspect....is it everyone on this forum or is it you?

Its everyone in this forum without a doubt, but you more so than everyone else Mr. mnc2886.

And why do you mention "everyone" and then mention Mr. PeerBlock separately, as if Mr. PeerBlock is a person that no one likes on the Forum?.

I want to say that Mr. Peerblock is a fine fellow, and he has excellent taste in sports cars.

No Peerblock just thinks I am finding reasons to not like the car and I should just buy it and stop talking about it. And I said a lamborghini or ferrari is out of my budget not a 160k car if you don't remember me bring up a fully optioned r8 as a contender. But if you think what you are doing is common sense when I clearly said the reason for winter tires is cold weather and not snow or ice driving then we must be looking at different dictionaries for common sense. Just please save urself the embarrassment and stop talking.

Mr. SRTViper, I am donating my raffle ticket to you. I hope you win the car so that you can just sell it after you win it because I know that you will hate it. Then you can use the money from the sale to pay for the medications that are also out of your budget. Modern medicine has wonderful medications that can help delusional thought, anxiety, and even attention deficit disorder.

You guys are cracking me up! Ok, that was a funny as hell read. SRTviper, you gotta stop taking yourself so seriously. Kratedisease, you gotta start taking yourself more seriously, LOL.

Actually, carry on like this. I really was laughing my ass off! Good entertainment, better than Saturday Night Live.

Thanks.... I was beat up here a while ago ( taking myself seriously) about not fitting into the 2013 Viper cabin due to my size .

And many members replied that I need to lighten up. SO I DID.

Having not even sat in the car, I know I'd absolutely love the new Gen V. You know why? Because it is a Viper, it will always be a Viper, and there is nothing else like the Viper. Still looking forward to the day that I can afford to buy ANY Viper....Gen 1.5 for me when I can.
