This baby is a 16 year old dream (2001 GTS, red, white stripes, Connolly Cognac interior). It was now or never. Shiny, and it runs like a dream.

Thanks, indeed it came fully detailed from the dealer. I still have some minor issues to resolve with him, then I'll give him my enthusiastic endorsement. Car is almost perfect.

The stripes are aftermarket. You can tell by looking at the NACA duct on the hood--stripes from the factory are painted down the sides of the cutout. Red/white was only available in 2002, on the Final Edition cars.

And, as a totally unbiased observer who would never let the fact that he has a red/white car too sway his opinion: Great car!

Thanks, good to know, I like it the way it is.
I bought it because that is the design I like most of all Vipers (no offense), I don't like black interiors (again, no offense), I wanted a bone stock, unmolested car, no mods, and I saw ABS as a necessity. The stripes... well, my 2 boys were in favor, I conceded... sort of

You can tell that the stripes are after market because cars with the cognac interiors couldnt have stripes. I love the red cars with the cognac. Beautiful ride man! congrats and enjoy!

Question for the elders: Is there any car cover to protect the Connolly leather you would recommend? Nothing too garish...

I would try to pick up a factory car cover, you can find them ever so often on ebay.
They are very nice and have a cool Viper logo
I think I saw one for sale on the site here as well...

I am of firm belief that if you have a nice leather seat you should sit on it, why cover up that nice Connelly leather
I figure that for a few more dollars than a nice seat cover costs you could replace the leather on the seat anyways...
