What's up peeps,

My name is Brian and I'm super stoked (and still in shock) to be able to say that as of March 19, 2016, I am the proud owner of a new (slightly used) Adrenaline Red 2013 SRT Viper GTS!

Growing up I, like many of you, had countless posters and toy models of the original Dodge Viper. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be a Viper owner. For 2 reasons:

1. I never thought I'd be able to afford one, EVER! Let alone at the age of 23.
2. Although it made a great poster and toy, as a young adult I never thought the Viper was very good compared to the competition.

I've spent a lot of time at the race track in shifter karts, race spec Porches and I have also spent a lot of time on and off the track with cars like the Corvette, GT-R, M3, Audi R8, etc. In my opinion the Viper just never held a candle to any of those cars. But the reality was, I never gave it a chance. I always based my opinion of the Viper from watching reviews of it online or reading articles on popular automotive publications. I currently own a highly modified 2008 Dodge Charger R/T and I still remember getting into a heated argument with Ralph Gilles and the entire Chrysler executive panel at the Spring Festival of LXs a few years back about why the Viper would never appeal to someone like me. That I'd always choose the Corvette or the GT-R over it.

Well, a few weeks ago I set out to buy a Charger / Challenger Hellcat and my girlfriend said, "If you're going to spend that much ridiculous money on a car, don't get a Hellcat. Everyone has one. Spend a little more money and buy something special...why don't you buy a Viper?" I scoffed at her.

Long story short, I came across this Adrenaline Red 2013 SRT Viper GTS while looking at a white Challenger Hellcat. I asked the dealer what the story was behind it and it turns out it used to belong to one of the sales managers at the dealer. I spent over an hour talking to him about the car and his experience with it. Then, after checking my credit to make sure I was serious, they let me drive it. All I can say is, that's all it took for me to understand it all. It all made sense. Nothing can describe the excitement and joy I felt after driving it. I HAD to have it.

So I bought it! (After having my good friend who is a Master SRT Tech give me the blessing)

Anyway, I know this is a long introduction so I apologize. I come from the Mopar world of LXs where, to be honest, a lot of the community is full of negative energy and immaturity. I've walked away with only a handful of friends. I'm hoping the Viper community is a lot more mature and welcoming. I'm here to make friends, learn and enjoy all things cars and all things life and just have a genuine good time with good people. I hope you welcome a young first time Viper owner!

Cheers!

I got my first Viper around your age as well. From one not so young guy to you, take the car to the track and do some more DE days with it. I came over from a GT3 to a Viper back at your age and even with a lot of track time the Viper took some getting used to. Not bad but just different. Were about are you?

I'm definitely taking it easy, despite my track experience. And yes, I plan on getting it out to the track ASAP so I can get to know it more intimately. Anyone here know anything about the SRT experience? Is it worth the money?

I'm currently daily driving it about 50 miles a day as well so I can get used to it.

And I'm in Los Angeles.

Great choice. And congrats, at 23 and owning 2013 GTS. This one looks like a line of track package GTS equipped cars.

Thanks! How can I tell if it has the track pack? I don't have the 2 piece Stop Tech rotors but I do have the 2 mode suspension and 4 mode stability control.

You can look up the build sheet on Dodge's webservice. If you don't want to go through the hassle, pm me the last eight of the VIN and I'll look it up for you

You have a smart girlfriend, keep her. She is exactly right, too many hellcats, Viper stands out anywhere you go. I own a 911 turbo as well, love it, twice as much $ as my Viper but does not stick out like the Viper.
