Brought the '94 to my local friendly Dodge dealer tonight, because it was making a clunking noise at times when I shifted up or down. The Viper tech, Kelvin, and I went out for a test drive, and as soon as he heard the sound, he had an idea what it was right away. Got back to the dealer, put the car up on the lift, and he re-torqued the ladder bar bolts at the rear end of the car, and also at the attachment points at the tranny, and lo and behold, NO MORE CLUNK! This was something covered a few years ago on a service bulletin, and somehow, the bolts came loose again. I don't know how or why the bolts came loose, but the fix was quick and painless. Thanks Kelvin! I thought I would post this for you guys having the same or similar problems. It is something to check right away, you can see where the ladder bar bracket shifted at the bolts because there is a mark on the bracket where the bracket moved (slid) at the bolts.
