fix it ticket for not having front licence plate in CA!! wut a bunch of cra

got a fix it ticket for not having a front licence plate on my 04 srt10 the other day in San jose, california. the car doesn't have one in the front as most exotics don't. i dont want to put an ugly plate on the front, what can i do? any suggustions?

Order yourself one of these removable brackets:

And when pulled over, give a little story about removing when last washed and offer to snap it on right then and there. Works for me. Just a little word of caution, warn the officer before popping and going in the trunk. Scared the last poor fella into paw-in for his piece .

Hey Ray,

Sorry to hear about the crappy ticket, take Quick2tr advice or you can take my advice and hope to get a cool cop to sign off on your ticket with the plate being held in place by a shoestring.

Buy the removable bracket (post above), put it on and take the car to the local sheriff's station and ask them to sign the ticket noting that you've got the plate. They don't charge for the inspection. Drive home. Take the plate off. Send in the ticket. My last one cost all of $10. Once you own the removable bracket, it will maybe cost you $10-20/year in fix-it tickets to not have an ugly plate on the front of your beautiful Viper.

I just had the same thing happen to me. Maybe it's because Caaalifornia!! needs money. I don't know.

Hopefully they are not going on some local front plate ticket spree.
I've been lucky having no front plate for 5 years now.

Yeah, I have that removable front plate bracket and keep it in the trunk.

Carry the camera, and after installing the plate, ask the officer for a picture with it on...Just in case!
