Hi Guys

I'm looking to get my 96 GTS wheels polished. Just wondering if the Flitz polish is safe on viper wheels??

The factory wheels are clear coated. Any compound or abrasives will damage the clear coat and only make the wheels look worse.

Wax, but if your asking, I'm guessing the clear must look pretty bad already.

Just use regular paint polish as you would with the rest of the car if you want to bring some shine back...meguiar ultimate polish is a great product. Just make sure you use a microfibre towel and don't let it dry up when polishing.

Don't use anything you wouldn't use on the painted surfaces of the car.

Maybe you should take a close up of your wheels. If the clear looks milky or it's peeling, it's probably been ruined by someone else who thought aluminum polish was a good idea........ Anyway let's take a look at what you've got.

Rub a small amount in inconspicuous spot if you can. if it turns black fairly quick, there's no clear coat. No black residue? they still have clear coat and stick with suggestions above.

I think I'm going to get them professionally stripped and repolished.

Good choice. I have had that done with cars in the past. You'll be much happier with the results.
