I am buying a new jack and I see Snake Oyl sells one for something like $459 but that is a ton of money for a jack. Right now I have to put 2 pieces of wood under the front tires so I can get my jack far enough under the car to raise it. Input needed please! :D

I have been looking for one also. I know Harbor Freight sells some low profile ones that look like they would work.

Craftsman just started making a low profile jack. I bought just bought one two weeks ago. They have two models, I think the smaller one is a two ton, and the heavier on is a three ton. I bought the two ton as this is plenty to lift the car, it costs $99.00. The heavier one is $169.00.

They work great. Keep in mind that my car is not lowered. The fit is tight so I don't know if it will work on a lowered car.

My old jack was also a Craftsman, it worked great for eight years.

I have been looking for a while to. Did you buy this jack from Alltire and will it fit all the way under to the cross beam? and is it high quality? I had my eyes on the one from Griots Garage anyone have any better ones for less money?

I bought two of the jacks from harborfreight:

The silver jack I bought works better than the blue jack (I thought they'd be the same jack, only different color... but, the silver one is a tad different). Both of them don't have the same lifting power as a more expensive model, but it's fine for my purpose. I use two of them to lift up one side of the car at a time. For $130, you can't beat it. There's a lightweight jack on their site that is $79 that looks the same, but I'm guessing it either isn't as durable or easy to use. There's also a $199 version that probably is better than the $130 version.

I've got an ACR -- which from the factory seems to have been set a bit lower than the average GTS. I did a bit of figuring -- and concluded that if any of my tires were deflated the damned chassis would end up so low to the concrete that practically no floor jack would get in there. However, I did find one:

I've actually used this thing to break apart pallets. If you take off the saddle, it'll fit in a space under 2". In the event one of my tires goes flat, it'll still fit under a standard lift point. I've got a small square sheet of rubber cut to take the place of the saddle and it still comes in under 2".

I have (2) of the Crew Line aluminum racing jacks and they work fine if you are jacking up a car from the side. They work great on the Viper. The handles come a little close to the fenders when you have the handle in the upright and raised position, you just have to be carefull. They do have foam padding in case you get too close.
The Alltire jack is great because it will allow you to come in from the front or rear of a car. This is especially helpful if you have an old muscle car with a solid rear axle or front crossmember. It is 8.5 inches longer in overall lenght than the aluminum Crewline or Harbor Freight jack.

I have the Crew Line (Costco) and the Griots Garage floor jack.

For home the Griots jack is it best, no doubt.

But if you need a track jack you need something lightweight, under 40lbs and the Crew Line works fine.

There is a great 4 ton race jack at Sams Club for $99. It is much better than the Harbor Freight jack for $79. The hydraulics are better, lifts half the car with minimal effort as opposed to the Harbor Freight version. I have used both. The Jack looks very nice also.

This Jack is the same one as Snakeoyl is selling. It is worth the $459 and CERTAINLY worth the $369 from Alltire above, that is a GREAT DEAL on tis jack, It is a low profile AC Hydraulic jack, model number: DK13HLQ is flat out the best floor jack for Vipers. Bar None:

I got mine from Sears, it's a 1 1/2 ton for 119.00. it has a roller instead of wheels at the front end where it goes under the car and it lifts the car with no problem. It fits under the RT/10 very easily, and I have waited a long time for a reasonably priced jack for this puprose, and Sears finally has one.

Sears $119.99 3-3/4" Floor Jack

Sears aluminum racing jack normally $199 is on sale for $169. It's a steal and works perfect on my Viper.

I have the cheap $79 jack from harborfreight and it works fine. It has no clearance problems and is rated at 3000lbs. The main difference (besides clearance) between the cheap and expensive models is the number of pumps to get to max height. The $79 model requires 10+ pumps but it is not a pain. I recommend it.

Harborfreight is the way to go. Aluminum with a 3000lb rating at a great price. It's what I use.

Thanx for all the input guys. I want to be able to lift the car from the front so I will probably go with the lift from alltire. Can you lift the car from the front with any of these other lifts?
