My clutch releases high up on the clutch travel. Where my 99 releases about halfway up, my 08 is about 3/4s of the way. Is this normal? my car has 599 miles, so I don't think it has worn out :smirk:. TIA,

I know! You have not even broken it in yet. But I can bet you can hardly wait.:D

Good luck and sorry for the highjack.

My 01 engages about 1/2 way up like your 99.

My 09 engages about 2/3 of the way up, maybe 3/4 like your 08.

Seems OK to me.

nowhere to now here TM
I have driven five different 08s (spirited) and they all have that really weird clutch feel. Sometimes I think I am going to burn the clutch up it has so much travel.

Thanks for the input guys. :2tu: I think it's OK. It just seemed higher than my 99. Probably closer to 2/3ds the way up like Viper X and CCBrian.

mine was the exact same as yours 99 untill i was going to do a lil burn out for my buddy that swore up and down that vipers were slow (he has since change his mind) but instead of breaking the tires loose i burnt the clutch or smoked it and after that it had a quicker release??? i don't know why i thought it was messed up because it got harder and quicker and felt like a real clutch not some butter lol. hope that helps

mine engages about 1/2 way up and then has a very light spring action so it almost bounces when you go over bumps (have not have a chance to get it to the dealer to look at it).

I wonder if the clutch pedal variance has anything to do with the new dual-plate clutch system. It seems like different cars behave considerably differently from what people are saying here - anywhere from 1/4 pedal travel to 3/4 pedal. Personally, I like the clutch to start grabbing right around the 1/4 pedal travel point.
