Surprisingly I like the wing, but I also think it would look good without it. I know alot of people have stated they would prefer it without the wing. So here you go... no wing.

It's a race car. It is supposed to have a wing. It is ironic that this time it is the posers - the ones who just want the car to show off in on Saturday nights, who don't like the wing.

The Aero package is a big reason it will be more than a cosmetics package. 1000 lbs of downforce at 150 mph. Well balanced front to rear.

I, also, am not a big fan of wings, but on this car it looks so right.

For me, it's either all ACR, or none. The ACR paint job NEEDS those black wheels. For a street car, I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of black wheels, so I'd probably stay with the more classic dual-stripe look.

Hmmm...after looking at the car without the wing (THANK YOU AUSTIN!!!)....I think I now prefer it.....what's nice is the front splitter center can be taken out for travel on local roads! LOVE the ACR~~~juli

Honestly, it would be cheaper for the 'posers' to just have a regular coupe painted to match this one. lol

Does anyone know (or have a well-educated guess) whether or not the aero package (for non-ACRs) will be factory-installed? I'm assuming it will be, but just wondering if anyone knows for sure....

Yep, factory installed as far as I know...

PS. Austin - as always some seriously mad skilz, but I definitely do NOT like it without the wing! :D

Personally I think the black wheels are not good for the ACR. Track cars need to be inspected and cracks in the wheels will not show up as well on black as they would on polished.

First we had no wing or splitter and people modified their car to include it. Now that the ACR has these mods, we are thinking of modifying it to remove them. Ah yes, the grass is green on the other side. It's the exclusivity-leading-to-stupidity syndrome.:dunno:

I'm not a big fan of wings on street cars either, but I would buy this car and keep the wing. I love the removable center section of the front splitter.

On another subject, does anyone know how much downforce (or lift) the stock coupe produces at 150 mph (or any mph)? This would be interesting to know for those of us the make high speed runs without adding wings and splitters.

I like the wing and splitter because they have been proven functional and are not poser mods by any means when the ACR is used to abilities. I applaud Dodge for the ACR and for the 600hp with more to come.

If they are smart, they will launch the Viper into factory sponsored racing. True car enthusiasts that buy limited production supercars care if the car actually wins races. That is why I prefer a Ferrari over a Lamborghini for example.

Off topic, but I agree ... Maybe it's just me, but a Lamborghini just seems like the absolute ultimate gold-chain/unique whips poser ride ... in no other way can you spend so much money on a sports car and look like you know nothing about cars :D (I picture somebody getting out of a Lambo and asking where the engine is)

I'm not a poser nor a track racer, and I don't like the wing. I'd have rather seen some engineering effort put into 'free' downforce via underbody or sidesill air management incorporating upside down wing or airfoil shapes creating the down force.

But you know how it goes.. :dunno:

I'm not a track racer nor a poser either, and I would not want the wing on my standard 2008. But since the car is an ACR, I think the wing, splitter and paint options offer the "in your face" aggressive look that fit the Viper image. And it's a lot more than a look---it works! Dodge and SRT really stepped up to the plate and hit one out of the park. There's something here for all of us with the 2008.:2tu:

This car is not going to be used on the street that often. The track is where it will be used and the wing will look right at home there. Out on the street it will look out of place.

I agree. :2tu: Why would you buy this car if you were not going to track it? The wing looks out of place on the street and it does not have any extra HP so if you are buying a car for the street buy a coupe. If you want to track your Viper buy an ACR with a functional wing. :dunno:

Maybe they should offer this paint scheme on the coupes for the people that want it.
